Welcome to Tide and Thistle, my home-made handcrafted small business.

I originally started making unique and quirky pieces whilst on maternity leave in 2021 and now make them between my "day job" and looking after my toddler. My family and I live in a small unique croft house that we have slowly and painstakingly renovated into our home. We are surrounded by hills, lochs, wildlife and rich island culture that is enough to inspire anybody... and so Tide and Thistle has been created. Each piece you will see is individually hand crafted by me at my home on the Isle of Lewis. I am absolutely in love with the beautiful wildness of the Outer Hebrides (and it gets pretty wild up here!) which provides inspiration for my work.

I make each needle felted piece, Harris tweed wall art and the occasional quilt or jewellery piece.

Living on the Isle of Lewis, I love Harris tweed. Its heritage is so important to preserve and so I source all my Harris tweed from genuine on-island local businesses.
